Emma's Beachy Keen Cuppies

Tomorrow is Emma's 9th birthday and these cupcakes were made to celebrate her last year of being in the single digits. I made these last night and instead of spending a bunch of time writing a long blog post, I've decided to just hurry up and share these with you. I have a bunch more posts coming so stay tuned for the recipes. I just couldn't wait! (If you want to see a full screen version of the slideshow, click here.)

  2. I bet Emma was thrilled with these.
They are beauts! Perfect for a summer birthday party. I hope the Seattle weather wasn't a party pooper!
(Those are really good and wild colours that have stayed true even with the baking. It's like reliving the psychedelic 60's for me! Crazy, man.

  6. Hi Julia,

Thank you for making my cupcakes. My friends loved them and I did too. It was great how they were all different things. I chose the boombox and the "E". They were super yummy! Thank you!

Your cupcakes look great-do you have a recipe for how to make them (and how you get the vibrant swirled effect even when they are cooked!) to share?
    Thanks so much!

I love that the colors didn't brown too much when they were baked. And I REALLY love the starfish/sand and the hat decorations. You did a wonderful job, I bet she was super excited!
