Thanks everyone, especially to AlohaGirl for noticing that I forgot to include the buttermilk! Sorry about that.

Daisy - when I make 2D designs like this, I like to find an image, print out one to three copies of it, and then cut each out to their distinctive shape. I use each as a template and then fit them together. Not everything can be made like that but baseball logos do have an advantage of being very blocky. It also helps to blow them up larger than normal as smaller designs are a big pain in the butt when they have to be spot-on. I am going to a post when I return from vacation about how I do it exactly. It's really not that hard - just VERY time consuming. Each logo probably took a minimum of 2 hours.

Those are so awesome. I wish I had your talent as we are huge Cubs fans and my husband would flip if I made those for his b-day coming up in September. You nailed it with each "cub"cake especially the logo and the retro blue bear. I absolutely love it. Again, I wish I had your talent with fondant but I don't, well not yet. If you happen to have a secret or templates let me know though. Maybe I would try.
